How To Find Disneys Animal Kingdom Theme Park:
As with the other Disney parks...you'll need to find out how you get to Disneys Animal
Kingdom. This depends on where you are traveling from. If you are staying at a
Walt Disney resort then no worries, your transport will be
available from your resort area.
Will you be traveling by car? Once again this will depend on where you are traveling
from using the I4, 192, Osceola parkway etc. All these roads do converge into Disney's
road system which will take you to Animal Kingdom please see our directions page. Follow the road signs which clearly mark which theme park you require. Car parking starts from $15 (2014 subject to change)
Walk or take a tram ride to the entrance at Disneys Animal Kingdom and make sure your tickets are ready to show...bag searches will be carried out. If you require hiring a locker or pushchair (stroller), you will find the rental store for strollers, inside the main entrance at 'Garden Gate Gifts' and for lockers head towards 'Expedition Storage Lockers' near Guest services inside the main entrance.
Starting your Adventure:
Depending on the time of year, ages of your children, height restrictions and
Fastpass availability, we consider there is around
three ways to start exploring Disneys Animal Kingdom, here's our guide...Remember this is
only our guide please do as you feel;
Under 5's:
If you're
not too concerned about the big rides, explore Oasis land and then head over to Dinoland
U.S.A. because during the high season (July - August) this becomes busy.
The kids and parents will love the boneyard where you dig up your own dinosaur bones.
Also, take a ride on Triceratops and fly the skies on a friendly favourite.
The other two rides here have height restrictions on them, the lowest been 102cm
which is Dinosaur, and the other being Primeval Whirl 122cm.
Fastpass is available on both rides.
Stop off at and don't forget the fantastic Finding Nemo - The Musical
After Dinoland head over to Camp Minnie-Mickey where you can meet up with
Pocahontas and her friends and discover the animal wonders of America. Check out the
Greeting Trails and have your camera & video ready, Mickey and his friends will be
about for photos.
Saving
the best till last...the Lion King
show...Disney's classic film brought to the stage, the family will love this fantastic
colourful and energetic spectacular. Like us you will go back a second time during the
day, its great fun.
After the Lion King show, head over to Discovery Island and the Tree of life where
'It's tough being a Bug' 3 D show awaits you, just wearing the wacky glasses is funny
enough.
All the family will love this (some scenes might scare young children). Its very
popular, so during high seasons use your tickets to obtain your Fastpass
5 - 10yrs old:
If
you don't mind getting wet, head straight over to Asia and jump onto
the Kali River Rapids, 97cm height restriction. For the not so brave,
rain macs are available on the raft. Fastpass is available.
Explore the rest of Asia with the Flights of Wonders and Maraharajah Jungle Trek while
you dry off. If you want to try Expedition Everest, you can...remember there's a height restriction of 112cm (44ins) the children love this ride.
After Asia
head over to Africa and board the Kilimanjaro safari, again Fastpass
is available; this can be a bumpy ride in places so people with back problems beware!
However, this is a great ride and gives you a taste of the African bush and the wildlife,
make sure you have your cameras and videos at the ready you will get some
fantastic shots, in between the potholes ha!
Once you've covered these areas, explore the rest of the park at your own pace...Remember Monday is a great day to visit Disneys Animal Kingdom.
